The Galveston Garden Club is one of the oldest garden clubs in Texas. Our mission is to teach and inspire a love of gardening, to do good in our community, and to preserve and maintain the historic 1847 Powhatan House. The club meets on the second Thursday of each month, September through May, at the Powhatan House at the corner of 35th Street and Avenue.

Let's be honest; our backs are against the proverbial wall. The 1847 Powhatan House is decaying before our eyes and for decades, the Galveston Garden Club has lacked the resources necessary to reverse this course. And now, time is up. Without an immediate infusion of capital, it will become necessary to sell this house.
